Hotel Kolpinghaus Wien Zentral

The service was excellent, the breakfast delicious, and the hotel’s location delighted us. Rooms are very warm, and you can adjust the radiator in the room and the one in the bathroom separately, so you won’t be cold in winter. The plumbing worked perfectly, towels were changed daily, and the rooms were cleaned every day. It’s only a five-minute walk to the city center, and there’s a flea market, metro access, and a shopping mall with the main street nearby. A DM store is also close for hygiene products. From almost anywhere, it’s about a five-minute walk. Of all the hotels we’ve stayed in, this was easily the best.

The location was amazing for a very fair price, and the breakfast service was worth paying extra for. The rooms were clean and roomy enough. I was surprised by how much closet space there was, and the water temperature and pressure were fine. My one disappointment was that there was no double bed option, just single beds pushed together. The hotel is near two metro stations and the city center. All of our trips took under 15-20 minutes, including the five or ten minutes to the metro and then a short ride to where we were going.

We’ve stayed at Kolping Wien for over ten years, but this latest visit left a really bad impression. During our four days, the towels weren’t changed at all, despite the hotel policy of replacing them every second day. The trash wasn’t taken out, and neither the room nor bathroom was cleaned. Even after three days, the tissue box was still empty. The hygiene is very questionable.

The location is perfect, and the rooms are quite spacious and really clean. Breakfast was pretty good, with plenty of options, and reception is available 24 hours. The staff were polite, especially the young man who welcomed us at check-in. A small fridge would make the rooms even better for anyone who wants to keep something refrigerated.
