Hotel Mocca

I loved the hotel. Breakfast was delicious and just right, the staff were nice, and everything was very clean. Soundproofing is the one issue if you're a light sleeper. I could hear the person next door snoring or washing, so bring earplugs.

The room was clean and the front facing view was a plus. The heating worked very well, and the tap water was drinkable. But I found the hotel a disappointing choice. It's in a very old building, and cheap materials seem to have been used throughout. Chairs, curtains and bed covers were very dirty, and the sheets weren't changed during our four nights. Breakfast was poor, with few choices and food refilled bit by bit. Only Tina at reception was kind and helpful; the others were cold and distant. After I had an accident in the bathroom and was bleeding, they had no first aid kit, only a couple of gauzes. The shower was narrow and too high, a hazard for vulnerable people. The location was good, with a bus stop outside and the metro a ten minute walk away.

The staff were so friendly and caring that they could brighten your day. Our room faced away from the busy streets, and the area was peaceful. Even in hot weather, around 33-35 C, we didn't need to use the air conditioning because we heard nothing day or night.

Everything was perfectly clean, and we could adjust the heating. The room and bathroom repairs looked quite old, and we could hear the neighbors. Still, it was a great hotel for three nights and the price was more than acceptable, even at Christmas. The location was 10/10, with the metro, shops and buses all close by.
