ibis Wien Mariahilf

The tram stop right outside connects the hotel to major parts of Vienna, and the location is really good. Our room was okay and had a beautiful city view. Breakfast had limited choices, but what was there was good. We had a wonderful stay.

The rooms were clean and warm, with a beautiful view, and the location was very nice. The service was disappointing, though. Staff showed no initiative or smiles. Housekeeping came into the room without respecting our boundaries and didn’t apologize. Breakfast had a very poor selection. The fruit was bad, there wasn’t much meat, and empty trays weren’t refilled. The stay was okay, but not worth the money. I’ve stayed at several Ibis hotels, and this one is my lowest rated.

We’d stayed at this Ibis before and it was good, so I don’t know what happened. On arrival, our room had lots of hair in the shower drain, which made it clog, and we asked to move. During our three nights, there was no cleaning, towel replacement, or toilet paper refill. When we asked, we were told the hotel was part of a program where the money is donated to a cause. I can understand and appreciate the initiative, but guests should be told clearly in advance and given the choice.

The staff were really helpful. The room was clean and basic, which felt fair for the price, but there was no soundproofing to speak of. I could hear neighbors moving around and sirens from ambulances and police on the road.
