Jugendherberge Wien-Myrthengasse

You can walk to the center in about 10 minutes, and the central location is hard to beat. The hostel was extremely clean and well kept, and breakfast felt more like what you'd get at a hotel. Definitely one of the best places I've stayed.

This was honestly my worst experience at a youth hotel. I had to switch rooms twice because people were gross, and there wasn't even the basic stuff you need, like a towel or gel. People were loud and disrespectful, so I couldn't sleep and ended up finding a good hotel. I'm writing this three days later, so this isn't just emotion, it's what happened.

I was content with my stay. The breakfast had a good spread, and the rooms were decent with bathrooms inside. The main attractions are a bit far off, though still within walking distance. I absolutely loved the wall covered in plants.

Breakfast was a nice surprise for the price, with proper Viennese rolls and coffee that actually wakes you up. The common areas have a fun student-hostel feel, and it's a solid budget base near the Museum Quarter, trams, and bars. There was just one working outlet by the beds, with outdated USB ports, and you have to make your own bed like at school camp. That's part of the charm if you aren't expecting luxury. Handy if you'll be out exploring all day and just want a clean, social place to crash. Bring a travel adapter and power bank.
