Leonardo Hotel Vienna Westbahnhof

The hotel staff were lovely, and we had a really nice double room with an extra bed for our son. The shower pressure was incredible. Our room was near the lifts and didn't have much soundproofing, so there was noise for much of the night. The U3 stop is very close, with trains every 3-5 minutes, and it takes only about ten minutes to reach the centre. Despite the noise, we had a great time and would stay here again.

The location made getting around easy, with the metro and main shopping street both within walking distance. We stayed five nights and eventually got a suite that matched the booking description much better, but only after a frustrating room change: first we were put in a hot attic room meant for three adults, with no bedroom door, no window curtains, a sloped ceiling we kept bumping our heads on, and a bathroom without ventilation. When we asked the next morning to move, we were told nothing was available, then offered another night there before switching. Asking for two standard rooms somehow led to another suite becoming available. Room supplies were sparse in both cases: no slippers, toothbrushes, toothpaste, conditioner, shower cap, or body lotion. Shampoo and soap came as one combined product. Breakfast was identical each day, and the coffee was particularly poor.

We really enjoyed our stay at Leonardo Hotel Mariahilf. Even with the busy area outside, the hotel itself was quiet, and our room was clean, comfortable, and had what we needed. The staff were attentive and friendly. Mariahilfer Strasse is an easy walk away for shopping, and public transport nearby made exploring Vienna simple.

The bathroom would benefit from a renovation, and a roomier shower cabin would help. It could also use a few more amenities to make things more comfortable. The rooms need better lighting too, and the extra bed for a third person felt rather short.
