Roomy, nice apartment, and a good base for exploring Vienna.

The location is super central, and the room is spacious with comfortable beds and good amenities. I’m giving it four stars because a few fixable issues let it down: a broken baseboard in the kitchen area, some dirt and mold on the shower enclosure, a broken makeup mirror, and an untidy hallway. These could be sorted out at little expense.

The apartment itself is nice and well located, but the way the problems were handled was awful. We were first left without access codes and had to ask for them while standing at the door. Two nights later the codes stopped working, and the system was in another language. At 12:30 AM we were stranded outside, and we were out until nearly 2 AM. For the next day and a half, we had to call a man whenever we wanted to get back in because they wouldn’t give us a key. They repeatedly said someone would come fix the problem, but nobody showed up. I had to keep chasing them through private messages in another language because they didn’t respond right away on the platform. Eventually, after a day and a half, they left two keys in a box. On our last day, someone came to fix something and entered with their own key before checkout, without warning, while we were still inside. Communication was poor too, and sometimes they stopped replying through Booking.com. The air conditioning didn’t cool properly. They said they’d look into it, although nobody else had complained, but it wasn’t fixed during the day and a half we had left. We had to open the windows, and on the first floor the tram right next door was terribly loud. The man we had to call was very friendly and tried to help, but it wasn’t his responsibility.

I wouldn’t recommend staying here in summer. We arrived in Vienna during 36-degree heat, and the air conditioning only blew air without cooling the room. When we complained, management made it sound as though this had never happened and we were the first to report it. Looking at online reviews afterward, we realized the issue had been going on for a long time. The sinks had icy cold water, so I don’t understand why the AC couldn’t be made to work properly. The convenient transport and nearby attractions are advantages, but what stood out most was that this was the only place on my two-week European trip where I had to stay shirtless in my room. It was also the only accommodation where I slept with the window open, letting the cooler air after 10 pm slowly come in while listening to the trams outside. I’ll say it again: don’t stay here in summer.
