Motel One Wien-Prater

The location is excellent, and I enjoyed my stay overall, but several parts of the experience were frustrating. My neighbor slammed a door at 4:30am and woke me up, and I couldn't get back to sleep. Check-in and check-out were chaotic, with long lines both yesterday and today, Saturday. Of the three staff members I could see, only one seemed to be handling check-ins, while guests waited patiently. The bar was extremely crowded, and the breakfast queue on Friday evening and Saturday morning was about as long as the checkout line, around 10 meters. Staff said the computer system was having problems, which can happen, but I was asked to pay again after the credit card charge had already gone through. I had to show a screenshot of my bank statement to prove it. With better organization and smoother processes, this could easily be a top choice.

The bar was very nice, and the hotel is close to Prater park. The rooms are modest, with a bed and TV, but no kettle, coffee pot or glasses beyond a paper cup.

The gin bar was a real highlight, stylish and well stocked, and a cozy spot to unwind after a day in the city. Motel One Wien‑Prater also gave us a quiet, clean, comfortable room despite the lively surroundings, and we slept wonderfully in the bed. We stayed as a couple for six nights and enjoyed it. Being right next to the Prater made it easy to explore, stroll or find a bite nearby. Breakfast was decent, but exactly the same each day, so more variety would have been welcome. We also had to remind staff about the broken chair in our room, and it wasn't replaced until two days after we first mentioned it. For the value, comfort and fantastic location, it was still a good stay. More attention to detail could bring it up to five stars.

I stay in different hotels around here because of the location, and this one won't be high on my list. The entrance and bar are great, but the rooms are small and poorly laid out. There are no amenities like coffee, a kettle, tea or mini fridge, no wardrobes, and too few surfaces. If you need the desk for work, there's barely any room left for your things. At check-in I asked for an invoice with specific company information and was told it would be ready at checkout. It wasn't, and I had to leave because of a timing constraint. I've sent messages asking for it and received no reply. Sometimes small details make the difference.
