Pension Peck

I paid 45$ a night, so I guess I got what I paid for: a basic place to sleep near the airport, maybe for 1-3 nights, as long as you keep expectations low. My basement room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. It felt more like a bed and breakfast than a hotel, given the location and design. I booked for the price, rainfall shower, WiFi, and free breakfast, but only got the price, since I’d already paid. The WiFi wasn’t working when I arrived. The shower was just a basic handheld one, which I had to put on the stand to use. The night before, I checked that breakfast would be available, but at 9am the lobby was empty and the owners were still asleep, even though breakfast was supposed to run until 10am. They couldn’t call a ride for me despite the website saying there was an airport shuttle. Apparently they use a private company, and it costs much more than Uber or Bolt.

The place is a little older, but it’s still a nice option for an overnight stay. It was clean, and the staff were kind and very helpful. Breakfast was good, with everything I wanted. I’d highly recommend it for the money.

The room was untidy and the staff were unwilling to help, though I wasn’t expecting much for the price and don’t mind old furnishings. There was dust across the floor, a bunch of black hair in my bed, and blood on the toilet door. Really disgusting. We spent 4 days there and got just one proper breakfast because the breakfast lady was ill. We had to ask for everything, including water, glasses, and cutlery. The landlady kept insisting there was no problem instead of apologising. I had to go to reception for a glass, and the one I got had lipstick on it from someone who’d used it before me. It was also very noisy because the windows were really old and faced a busy street, which I can cope with, but some people may have an issue with it. The old mattress wasn’t comfortable either. I wouldn’t choose this accommodation.

It’s an old hotel that needs major renovation. The rooms have no AC and get really hot in summer, and there’s no soap or shower gel. The WiFi doesn’t work, and be ready to pay in cash. The restaurant has a horrible oil smell. It’s near BIPA and Billa, and about a 5-minute walk from a station on the U3 metro line. It isn’t expensive, but nothing special.
