PhilsPlace Full-Service Apartments Vienna

We were on the train from Graz to Vienna in winter, and it was extremely cold. Thankfully, we managed to sort everything out during the journey and find somewhere available. Otherwise all four of us might have ended up out on the street, singing Frozen. We’d read Google reviews on the way and were alarmed to see someone had been unable to enter the apartment despite getting an Agoda confirmation code. We’d booked through Agoda too. We quickly called the property owner, but nobody answered. Agoda couldn’t reach them either. Later, the owner sent us a notification saying the "property does not exist". Fortunately, Agoda’s call centre staff were really helpful.

A really awful experience. We got an Agoda confirmation number, but no apartment access code, so we couldn’t get in. Calling and messaging the property contact brought no solution. We had to wait in the cold until midnight, then book another hotel.

The location is a bit out of the way, though I think that’s reflected in the price. It’s about an hour’s walk to the town centre, so I’d use Uber if you’re not keen on walking. I stayed eleven nights. Check-in went well, and when an electrical issue came up in my room, they moved me straight away and dealt with it. There’s a supermarket next door, a restaurant downstairs on the first floor, and more places to eat and convenience stores around the corner. The gym on the second floor costs €5 for three hours, which is good value. I can’t find much else to fault.

There’s a wide view from this clean, roomy apartment, and it was easy to park. The kitchen is equipped, and there’s plenty of closet space. Everything is close by.
