Sky Apartments Vienna

We had a really good room with a great view, and the staff were helpful. It’s a bit far from the center, but being so close to a metro station meant we barely noticed the distance.

I spent 10 nights at Sky. The double room was roomy and comfortable, the beds were fine, and there was air conditioning. Some rooms also had electric shutters. After I asked, they brought more coffee capsules, and someone from reception, I think an Austrian guy, checked in on WhatsApp now and then to see if I needed anything. They did try to be more helpful after I was very unhappy at the start, which is why I’m giving it 3 rather than 1. The experience was just okay overall. At first, I asked to cancel five minutes after booking by mistake, but they wouldn’t agree. Later, there was a problem with the shower. They took three nights after I reported it to send a technician, saying there were no technicians over the weekend. I’d have expected a discount in that situation. There’s no breakfast, and reception has limited hours. The staff weren’t much help when I first asked for tips about nearby places, and the Russian woman was especially unfriendly. The fifth floor doesn’t offer much of a view, and the towels are too short.

I’m very disappointed by the lack of communication and professionalism, and I won’t be returning. My mother and I stayed here a month ago, and things went badly from the start: the apartment smelled unpleasant, and the living room window wouldn’t close properly. I had paid 150 euros in advance. After I left a review, I got an automated email accusing me of damaging a sofa cushion. The attached photo was an extreme close-up, too small to tell clearly whether it was even from our apartment. It didn’t show the rug that was under the sofa, which made me doubt it further. The apartment we were given also didn’t match the listing photos, so it’s even harder to verify where that picture came from. I explained several times that we hadn’t used that area and asked for more photos to check the claim. I’ve sent at least six emails and called every week, offering to cooperate, but still haven’t received a clear answer. I’d tell future guests to take detailed photos and videos as soon as they arrive, including of areas that aren’t obvious.

A great place for Shabbat, with all the facilities you need. We had a lovely time, and the owner shared useful recommendations and all the information we needed. 5 stars.
