Our confirmed booking was canceled two weeks later, even though we’d reserved well ahead through Booking.com. The hotel gave a vague “pricing error” excuse, with no explanation, apology, responsibility, or attempt to fix it. The sudden cancellation completely disrupted our trip. Booking.com was no help either, with no support or reply to our messages, though this review is about the hotel’s unacceptable behavior. A confirmation from this place clearly means nothing. Canceling a confirmed reservation like that is outrageous. Avoid it if you value your time, money, and peace of mind.

The staff were really friendly, and breakfast was decent. It’s right in the city, and for the price I can’t complain.

My suite had a whole kitchenette, while some of my friends and colleagues at the big conference didn’t even have a kettle. The suites are spacious and well appointed, inside a charming old building in typical Viennese style. Breakfast had a generous choice, the staff were friendly, and public transport is close. There’s a beautiful park across the street. It was excellent value for money, and everything I wanted in a hotel. My conference friends were jealous when I told them where I was staying and that I paid less than they did. I definitely recommend it and would happily stay again.

The room was awkwardly shaped, very old, and not comfortable or inviting, though it was decent value overall. I hadn’t realized when booking that the hotel was quite a distance away, just across the Danube canal. Without public transport, it’s a good half-hour walk into central Vienna, so not very convenient. I switched hotels after one night.
