The Amauris Vienna - Relais & Châteaux

Getting around was easy, with tram stops and the U-Bahn right by the hotel. I also wanted to visit a Heurige in the suburbs, and although my German is limited, reception handled the arrangements perfectly. The room, 403, was quiet and looked out onto the Ringstrasse. It was recently refurbished and, in my experience, one of the best designed and equipped rooms I’ve stayed in. The shower was magnificent, the wardrobe and mirrors were well planned, and even the bedside table had a small lip to stop things falling off. Breakfast was all served at the table, mostly freshly prepared, and honestly the best hotel breakfast I’ve had. The staff made a large hotel feel small and personal at every turn, from the initial welcome and check-in to breakfast and the reception desk. It wasn’t an inexpensive stay, but it was worth every euro. If we come back to Vienna, this will be our first reservation.

The rooms are spacious and gorgeous, and the whole place has a quiet, warm, classic feel. The restaurant, bar, and room service food were all wonderful, and room service was quick. I was only there for one night on a personal trip, but the staff made it feel special with their warmth and attention. One bellman even reprogrammed my key after noticing I’d been waiting at reception for a few minutes while his colleagues were busy. Those little touches really add up. I can’t recommend this property enough.

The Wiener Musikverein and State Opera are both about a five-minute walk away, with public transport close by too. Along with the splendid location, the service made for a marvellous stay at The Amauris Vienna, and I’d highly recommend it. We thought it was excellent value for money. We were there in December for our mini-moon and were treated like royalty. The hotel is beautifully decorated, and the staff are exceptional. They surprised us with champagne, a delicate patisserie, and fresh fruit cut beautifully and brought to our room. Our room was spacious and tastefully designed, with excellent lighting technology. Breakfast was outstanding, and the à la carte dishes were exquisite in quality and presentation. A Ukrainian staff member served us, and though we unfortunately forgot to ask her name, her attentiveness and care made our mornings even more special.

The spa is state of the art, and they were happy to let me stay and relax a little beyond its opening hours. I also loved the complimentary tea selection in both the room and spa, and the green lighting in the pool looked awesome. Breakfast was magnificent. The man who checked me in was super helpful, and the staff and general vibe were hard to beat. This is an excellent hotel that earns its five-star status.
