I booked the apartment for five nights, September 16-21, 2025, and had been looking forward to it because it looked so good online. Instead of a proper check-in, I was asked to send a photo of my ID card. There was no reception or anyone in the building I could speak to, only online contact. The apartment looked new but cheap, with two kinds of flooring, old beds and old furniture. There was blood on the bed, no air conditioning, and it was already 27 degrees inside when I arrived at 3 pm. The water stayed warm all the time. A man tried to fix everything, but nothing worked, so I'm glad I found another hotel. Never again!
The apartment doors slam loudly whenever they close, and with no entry code or lock on the building's front door, the entrance didn't feel secure. The host ignored all the problems we raised and even banned us after we posted a negative review. That was completely unprofessional and unacceptable. We got no response to our messages despite issues with a single blanket and sheets too small for a double bed, air conditioning that couldn't be adjusted, broken chair backs, and no washing machine or laundry facilities in the building. The laundry situation is a real problem for longer stays. This was by far the worst aparthotel I've stayed in, an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience. I strongly advise against staying here.
We arrived at 8 pm on a Friday to find that our room had been double-booked. We used the access code and found someone else's belongings in the apartment. Although communication had been great beforehand, our repeated calls went unanswered and we were told to contact them through Booking.com. Lotus apartments said no other rooms in the building were available, so we had to find somewhere else to stay. Later, the owner called and offered a larger apartment for another €200, saying the problem was Booking.com's fault. He kept trying to shift responsibility, but Booking.com confirmed the property had failed to close the room's availability after our booking. The whole situation was frustrating and caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience. I wouldn't recommend staying here because of the poor handling and lack of accountability.
The apartment was spacious, bright and very quiet, in an area with almost no car traffic. The neighbors were quiet too, and appeared to be in rental apartments, since their door locks matched ours. The building had been renovated only months earlier and has more than three levels. There are a few free parking spots nearby, depending on luck. I felt the neighborhood was safe even at night. There are many Arab shops and people in the area, along with the Islamic Foundation / Turkish-Islamic Foundation. There was no mosque nearby to signal prayer times. A tram stop is about a two-minute slow walk away and takes you to the old center. A Billa supermarket, two bakeries and some restaurants, including kebab and grilled meat places, are nearby. The address had been updated to the real location, close to Ottakringer Brewery. At the time of my review, there was no visible sign on the building apart from at the access door. There was no check-in desk, so access was mostly do-it-yourself, with details sent by Booking.com email around 15:00 CET. A cleaning staff member showed me the right apartment and gave me a brief introduction. My German is minimal. The smart lock used a six-digit PIN and felt perfectly safe when operated correctly. A large elevator had been installed in 2023. It was a warm December at around 2-4C outside, and the underfloor heating was on, with thermostats in the bathroom and living room. I couldn't do much to control it, or perhaps it was the system's inertia, but the apartment was warmer than expected, and the bathroom was a bit hotter than I usually set it. Everything was clean, including the sheets. The kitchen had a microwave, a large dishwasher with one detergent dose supplied, dish soap for handwashing, a paper roll, a medium-sized fridge and utensils. I booked through Booking.com, where there were also good reviews. Staff answered my inquiries fairly promptly, but only in German. They didn't answer when I called, instead sending an SMS asking me to contact them through Booking.com's chat. I got my issue resolved that way. I'd definitely come back.
I had a lovely, large, clean apartment with a balcony.
