Villa Luna

The room was very clean and had a large bed plus a bunk bed, which made my child happy. Service was nice. But when we went to sleep, we found the bed was broken, and we lost half the night to it. It was a nightmare and there was no comfort. In the morning, I went to load the dishwasher and saw the owners hadn't emptied it after the previous guests. It makes me wonder whether the bedding had been changed too, since it looked oddly crumpled. I don't recommend the place and won't return, even though I often pass through Vienna.

The automated check-in worked without any trouble, and with some luck we found street parking. Parking was free on the weekend. The apartment is warm and comfortable for a short stay, especially if you're heading to Schönnbrunn park, the Palace, or the Zoo, all a short walk away. I'd seen comments about smells and too much humidity. It seems they're addressing that, and I barely noticed it. There was a dehumidifier in the apartment.

The damp smell people mentioned in the towels and bedding was there, unfortunately. The room also felt a bit shabby, and the double bed had just a single duvet, which wasn't enough for a tall bloke. On the plus side, the bathroom was really nice and the shower had good pressure, though anyone over 6ft might struggle with it 🤣. The kitchen area was fine, and it's about three minutes on foot to the U4 underground and ten to Billa, probably one of Vienna's best shops. Check-in instructions came in advance and the online process was easy. If you're only sleeping here, it's OK for the price, but next time I'd pay a little more for a nicer apartment.

I booked through Agoda, with payment supposed to be taken on June 1 under the booking terms, but the hotel charged me on March 7. I cancelled the reservation, and now they neither refund me nor answer my emails. It looks like a scam to me, so I'd advise people not to book with them. This feels completely fraudulent.
