Two stars, and that's me being generous. I really tried to be nice, because my mama raised me right and I'm no monster. Four stars? Where, in the sky or on a Christmas ornament? On planet Earth only two made it down, and that's more than the hotel deserves. On a good day, I'd call it one star. The room looks stuck in a bad decision from the late '90s. It was clean-ish, but so is a hospital hallway, and no one's calling that luxury. I half expected a rotary phone to ring, with nobody answering because everyone had given up. Service moved at an existential pace, like staff were pondering whether guests needed help and what hospitality even means. Come expecting comfort, charm or anything like a premium stay and you'll be spiritually disappointed. If you bring no expectations and a strong sense of humor, you might survive. That's the two stars. Sarcasm aside, I was trying to be kind.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and it's a very good place to stay if you want to see the city, visit the Warmbad thermal bath or get to the train station. Highly recommended!

Villach is beautiful, and I liked it enough to add an extra night. I picked this lovely hotel for its central spot near both the train station and city center. Daniela at reception was so kind and helpful, suggesting all sorts of trips and city events while I was traveling alone.

Train delays meant we needed a stopover, and a lovely woman at reception gave us a room. It was clean, in a great location near the station. Thank you so much!

The room was clean and the staff were really nice. The hotel is old fashioned and in a really good location, but I was disappointed that the shower soap wasn't by the sink, so I had to reach into the shower to wash my hands. Even a euro more for soap at the sink would make stays more comfortable. I booked the smallest room because this was a stopover and I didn't need much, but the bed sloped down on one side and I kept sliding that way, barely sleeping. The breakfast costs extra and wasn't worth the money. It was just fine overall, but not much cheaper than nearby hotels, so I probably won't book again. In my opinion, it's a three-star hotel, not four.
