We arrived after midnight to find that the key-box code for our self check-in wouldn’t work, and there was nobody available to help. After travelling so long, we were really let down and ended up camping behind the Hotel. The next morning they offered a full refund and a rather reluctant apology, but nothing to make up for it, not even a shower or breakfast.

The family running the guesthouse made us feel at ease straight away. Breakfast on the restaurant terrace had the relaxed feel of eating with friends, and the hosts were warm and almost like family. We stopped for a night on our way to Croatia. Getting here was easy, just a few minutes off the highway, and dinner was tasty and reasonably priced. Their home-brewed beer is well worth trying. The rooms are a little old-fashioned, more like my grandparents' place, but everything was clean and that was fine for one night. A good choice if you're passing through.

By chance, our stop with the motorhome for the "Landvergnügen" (Landlust) event turned into a really nice evening. We ate at the restaurant and had roast chicken drumsticks with the Ur-Märzen. The beer went down easily, and the meal was delicious.
