Hoftaverne Ziegelböck

Breakfast was good, parking was convenient, and the staff spoke English. It seems like a good hotel, though I didn’t see a spa or fitness area. A warning if you need quiet sleep or are travelling with a child: ask where your room is. Ours was beside the narrow road that runs along the hotel, and traffic went by constantly. It was extremely loud, with all kinds of vehicles passing every second, and we had trouble sleeping. The hotel knew from our booking that we had a child, so I think management should avoid putting small families in those rooms. Please take this feedback into consideration.

We stopped in for drinks after unexpectedly running into some old friends nearby, and one of them recommended the place. The building is nice, and there’s plenty of parking behind it. Service was quick and good, and the staff were friendly.

The dark wood inside gives the place such a warm, inviting feel, and the waiters were friendly. It serves Austrian food with a local touch, along with a good selection of bottled local craft beers and local draft beer. The menu changes with the seasons, with asparagus in spring, pumpkin in fall, and deer in winter. It’s the kind of place you could happily stay in for ages.

We stumbled across this family run hotel while looking for somewhere to sleep for the night. After a big four star hotel the night before, this felt like a welcome change, simple, quiet, and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the room was clean. There’s Wi-Fi and a restaurant too. I’d definitely recommend it if that’s what you’re after. 😁
