The hotel is clean, though its facilities are on the older side. Breakfast and dinner were excellent. It’s in a lovely spot with mountain views, and there’s an aqua park nearby with free entry, with the option of peeling rap weeks.

We had a deeply disappointing experience with Hotel Sonne. A sudden, very serious family health problem meant we had to cancel just days before our planned arrival. We weren’t asking for a refund, only to keep the amount already paid as a voucher or move the booking to another date. Any kind of compromise would have worked for us. The hotel’s response was completely inflexible and felt shockingly cold. There was no sign of sympathy or willingness to handle an exceptional situation with some humanity. We just got a formal rejection by email. We couldn’t have a conversation by phone either, as nobody spoke English, and we were given no help or accommodation. For a hotel that supposedly values hospitality, that felt very unprofessional and disappointing. We’ll never book here again, and anyone who might need compassionate or solution-focused communication in an emergency should stay away. Clearly, money matters here, not people.
