The place sits beautifully away from the road, though getting up from the street is a bit of a climb. You can enjoy the beach, sauna, and dinner at the elegant Hotel Enzian, which is run by the same family. The furniture could do with an update, and the kitchenette is small. It works well if you only plan to make breakfast and eat out otherwise.

This is my third year in a row visiting Sonneck, in both summer and winter. Weissensee is a great destination for either season, and I'd definitely recommend it. In winter the lake freezes over and is ready for skating 👍💪😊
