The man with the white beard came out when I pulled up and told me I couldn't park there because it was for hotel guests. I said I was a guest with a reservation. He watched as I took my luggage out of the trunk, then followed and monitored me all the way to reception to check that I really was staying there. He never offered to help with my bags or apologized for the rude welcome, and kept treating me with suspicion. I've stayed in hundreds of hotels over the years, and this is in my top three for rudeness. I would never recommend it. It felt like a xenophobic hotel, quite an oxymoron.

The hosts were so friendly and helpful, and the hostess was already baking fresh rolls and pastries in the kitchen early in the morning. Breakfast was excellent. Our room felt like a cozy, spacious holiday apartment, and the location was fantastic. We loved our stay and would definitely return.

Even after a long journey with major delays that kept us on the road until late in the evening, we were welcomed so warmly. The rooms were clean and had an authentic, neat feel. Breakfast was phenomenal.
