Frühstückspension Wernberg

Great place. Clean, good food and nice staff.

I stayed with my family at Pension Wernberg from May 1 to May 2, 2026, for the ÖFB Cup Final. There were plenty of parking spaces, and the key machine made check-in and check-out easy. Our room was large and clean, and the staff were very kind and attentive. Breakfast got busy, so the rolls ran out quickly. The selection was limited but enough, and the staff member worked hard to keep things stocked. Freshly baked Semmeln take a little time, of course. With the new ownership, things may still need a bit of time to settle in. We were in room 8 on the second floor. Its corner window had no curtain, so the room was quite bright at night. The mattresses were very firm. They suited me well, but my wife and son found them too hard. I think that comes down to personal habit, so I’d call it neutral. The price for what we got was very good.

We used to stay at the guesthouse regularly and always had a great experience, especially with the friendly reception staff. Since the change of ownership, there’s no one at reception, and room keys have to be collected using a PIN at one of two machines. Breakfast is okay, though it’s not as good as it used to be. Our last stay, two days ago, began with trouble at the key machine. One wasn’t working properly, but someone came over quickly after we called and got us the keys. The following morning we had to wait outside the dining room because breakfast wasn’t ready at 6:30. Then, after we’d left, my colleague was accused of taking three pillows, even though his double room had only two. We won’t stay here again. That was our last visit.
