After a long day walking, the pool, sauna and steam room were a welcome bonus. Our balcony room was spacious and clean, with a great bathroom. The buffet breakfast was good, and the four-course dinner was a very high standard. The hotel is about 400 years old and had been upgraded earlier that year. The dark-haired waitress looking after us was delightful, and so was Nicole the manger. They both had warm smiles and a helpful, can-do attitude that added to the friendly feel of the place.

We had a great holiday and would definitely come back. The staff were so friendly, and the food was excellent. Our room was large, well equipped and had lovely views. We were there for a walking holiday, and the location worked really well for that.

Breakfast was top notch, and the staff were very helpful from the moment we arrived, greeting us with glasses of prosecco. The building has modern comforts but still keeps its old charm, and our room was lovely and clean. For our ski trip, the outdoor-access ski storage and the wellness area with pool and sauna were especially useful. The front desk also helped us research local attractions for the next stop on our trip. We had an amazing time at hotel Jakobwirt and can’t recommend it enough.

We left very disappointed. The welcome felt unfriendly, check-in took a long time, and the receptionists seemed overwhelmed, unhelpful and a little rude. Their German and English seemed limited. Cleanliness was another problem: our boots made the floor muddy, but it wasn’t mopped during our three-day stay. We had to call reception twice to ask for it to be cleaned. The bathroom and toilet had no doors separating them from the bedroom, which seriously affected our privacy. We were told the doors hadn’t arrived in time, but received no meaningful apology or compensation. Our email to the hotel and its management company, Roomex, asking for another room or compensation got no reply. The shower soap holder fell off the wall, and there wasn’t even a bathroom bin. For a hotel advertised as four star, several amenities listed on the website were missing: no room safe or bathroom toiletries. Extra coffee capsules for the in-room machine cost €2.50 each, which seemed unreasonable at over €250 a night. The stay didn’t provide the service or amenities we expected for that price, and we can’t recommend it.

A lovely place to stay, with a great location and parking nearby. The team really went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Our room was lovely and breakfast was super.
