Astoria Apartments Wildschönau

The owners and staff were so welcoming and accommodating that we felt right at home, and we're keen to return. The apartment is in a breathtaking setting with a wonderful view of the snow-capped Alps, and it has everything needed for self-catering at excellent value. A supermarket is a three-minute walk away, while the nearest ski lift takes five minutes on foot with children and equipment, and definitely less time alone. The music trail is well worth doing. The owner also mentioned the village festival every Wednesday, with a live band and attractions. Drachental Oberau is ideal for children, with plenty for parents to enjoy too. We will definitely be back.

The layout worked really well for two families: two bedrooms sleeping four each, a big kitchen with an eight-seat table, and a generous living room. The apartment was spacious and very clean, with comfortable beds, good showers, lots of fresh towels, and a well-stocked kitchen with a good oven. Auffach gondola is about an eight-minute drive away. During the Dutch school holidays, we found plenty of parking there in the morning.

We found the people very friendly, and the apartment was spacious and really nice. Its central spot also makes a great starting point for lovely walks nearby. Highly recommended.

We stayed in January and again in September, and had a wonderful vacation both times. The apartments are great and the location is absolutely fantastic. We'd love to return.
