Feriendorf Wildschonau: Alpine Comfort With Family

Reception at Vicky’s was very friendly and helpful. From the chalets, it’s a short uphill walk to the Niederau ski-lifts, or you can take the free bus to Auffach. The chalets are simple, roomy, well-fitted and neat, and ours was quite clean when we arrived. One odd thing: during the week, the park’s own garbage man may let himself into your house without warning using his key card. They’re also close to a road, so light sleepers may notice the noise, especially when there isn’t much snow to muffle it. Bring slippers, as the floor splinters a bit.

We really enjoyed staying here and at Vicky Apartments. The staff were very polite and nice, and we were pleased with the place. It had what we needed, including a well-equipped kitchen and bathroom. We’ll surely be back.

Check-in and check-out were easy and smooth, and the chalet was spotless and tastefully furnished. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the fenced, well-kept garden was great for our dog. After two days, a family with three children moved in next door. From then on, the constant stomping and shouting meant we couldn’t enjoy our accommodation, especially the garden. We’d love to return, but that experience unfortunately puts us off.

The Wildschönau Premium Card is included, so you can use the summer mountain lifts for free. We stayed at the Wildschönau holiday village again, for the second time, and enjoyed it just as much. The houses are roomy and well furnished, with a lovely terrace enclosed by a fence and/or hedge and a lawn that was ideal for our dog. Ms. Neuber welcomed us warmly again and did a fantastic job arranging for us to have the same house as last year. We felt at home right away and will definitely return.
