Sonnenalp

We’d happily book this place again. The house is tidy and well furnished, and our apartment had three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It’s also very convenient for getting around on foot, with the ski slopes just a 2-3 minute walk away.

The location near the ski gondola is ideal, and the complex is wonderfully quiet since it’s away from a main road. You can park right outside, though the snowplow can be heard. The apartment looks south over the mountains. We’ve been coming to Niederau for 30 years and have rented at Sonnenalp for the last few. This was another fantastic stay in the large apartment that sleeps six. I was there with just my son, so we had lots of room, especially in the two big bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, shower and toilet. The living room is spacious and cozy, with a glossy red kitchen that makes cooking enjoyable. It had everything we needed. Everything was ready and spotless when we arrived. We also got an information folder and a voucher for coffee for two at Jeannie's as a welcome gift. It was such a lovely stay that we’d just got home and had already booked again for 2024.

We had a lovely view of the local mountain, Markbachjoch, and felt very comfortable. The living room was big enough for four of us to eat and relax, though the bedroom felt a little cramped for two. Hotel Schneeberger runs at least three of the apartments in the building. It’s family friendly, with books and games on a small shelf by the entrance. The building is nice and warm and has an elevator. The showers get hot quickly, and the covered balconies are usable even when it rains.

The view is stunning, and the location works well for either a summer trip or a ski holiday. It’s a super cute apartment, clean and well looked after, with two toilets and two showers. The hostess was so friendly and welcoming, and took her time with us. We got a lovely gift when we arrived. There are even photos showing how the closets should be arranged and what’s available.
