Hotel Alpengasthof Hochegger

We’ll definitely come back after this great weekend escape. The hotel is in a lovely landscape, with a chairlift right next to it, making it perfect for skiing. There’s also a sauna for relaxing in the evening. The food was amazing, fresh and cooked on the spot. The place was cozy and very clean, and the staff and host were wonderful.

What made the winter stay for us was the staff. They were so friendly, helpful, always smiling, and showed us around. I felt at home with family. The rooms were clean, cozy, and had all the equipment we needed. After skiing, the wellness area was just right for relaxing and recovering. We also looked forward to dinner each day, with very good food and a variety of options. We’ll definitely return.

Our children, aged 3 and 4, loved the baby club, pool, and hotel-organized excursion. They also had fun on the alpine slide next to the hotel, included in the package, and playing bigliardino at night. The hotel is very child-friendly, and the staff were patient. We spent a wonderful week at the Hochegger Hotel, hosted by the kind and caring Hochegger family, who were always attentive to our needs. Our room was spacious and kept very clean, with towels and bed sheets changed regularly. The food was abundant and delicious, and the location was superb. We had a wonderful view over the valley, and the hotel was next to the lift stations up to the mountain peak. We appreciated the quality of the air too. We hope to come back during ski season. The veranda and its view made meals especially enjoyable, and I had so many really good Austrian dishes. Ask about the pinecone schnaps: they make it themselves, and apparently it’s good for your health. I had an amazing ski trip at Hotel Hochegger, right next to the ski lift. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The food was amazing, and I’d highly recommend eating there in the evening or at lunch during a ski day.
