Der Schmittenhof und Nebenhaus

We had a fantastic time at the Schmittenhof. The room was spacious, breakfast was nice, and the staff were very friendly. The reception team were especially helpful. We’ll be back!

I travelled solo and had a very easy, enjoyable ski holiday here. The ski bus stops right outside every 15 minutes, the rooms were very nice, and the staff were lovely. The food was delicious too. Highly recommend this hotel. Till next year!

The food was to die for. Breakfast is a buffet, and dinner gives you several choices, with the starter, soup and dessert included by default. That makes four dishes, and we were practically rolling out of the restaurant each night. If we weren’t skiing, we’d need to watch those portions! We liked our room a lot, especially its great mountain view, separate den and bedroom, soft bed and surprisingly good shampoo and shower gel. The hotel is almost ski-in/ski-out, since a piste runs right behind it, though you still need to walk a little in ski boots. There’s a ski room and a separate boot room with its own entrance, and ski boots aren’t allowed in the hotel lobby.

Breakfast was fresh and plentiful, and it was the best cup of tea I’ve ever had outside the UK. Dinner was delicious, with very attentive and friendly staff. The kitchen made me something gluten free every night, and staff often brought my gf bread in the morning without me asking. They also kept a cold plate for us when we arrived late on our first night, which was a lovely welcome. The location is ideal for skiing Zell am See and handy for driving to Kaprun. Our room was clean and spacious, with a nice balcony and view. We went to the sauna every day and would happily stay again.
