Lake View Suites Villa Julia - Garden Suite

The apartment is spacious and had everything we needed, and the internet worked fine. The price seemed reasonable for the location and view. From the terrace, we had a breathtaking view over Zell am See lake, and it’s just across the road from the lakeside path. There are reserved parking spaces for guests, and a three-minute walk gets you to the middle of Zell am See downtown. The main downside is the railway right next to the apartment. A train passes about every 30 minutes, and some are loud enough to make the apartment shake. The terrace is old and feels like it could fall apart. It also isn’t fully enclosed, so bees are always flying around inside. We rented the penthouse for its great view, but be prepared to carry your own heavy bags upstairs.

The nearby railway brings regular train noise, which could bother some people. The apartment itself is very spacious and clean, with a great view of the lake and mountains. Its convenient location makes for pleasant walks along the lakeside and easy access to the center of Zell am See. It could feel warmer with some redecorating, and basic fixes like the toilet roll holder need attention. We had trouble using the microwave, and missing appliance instructions didn’t help. The TV is outdated and, given its size, is better suited to use as a computer monitor. We arrived on a bank holiday when buying even basic essentials in Zell am See was difficult, so a welcome pack would have been useful. Villa Julia is acceptable and has plenty of room to improve.

It’s right in the center and close to the lift, which makes it a great place to stay. The railway is only about 10 meters away, though, and that’s a small drawback.
