Hotel Neuwirt

We had a modern room that was just big enough for two adults and two kids. The hotel itself is clean, modern, and nicely placed in central Zell am Ziller, though parking is limited. Breakfast was the same each day, but the food was fresh and good quality. Dinner came with a starter and dessert, plus a choice of two mains, one always vegetarian, and it was tasty and well prepared. The manager was the one real downside for us. He came across as very cold, and you could tell if he didn't like you. I wondered if he disliked foreigners or families with children.

Getting around was easy: the train station is a five-minute walk away, with connections to other ski areas, and the ski bus stop is only 50 meters from the hotel. We had a great stay. The staff were all lovely, the rooms clean and roomy enough, and the bathrooms were nice. The bed was firm, which suited us. We chose half board and were pleasantly surprised by how good the evening meals were. I can highly recommend it.

We had a pleasant stay, though the food didn't have much flavor or anything special about it. The room was very nice, but there was no partition on the balcony. With a little more creativity, I think more could have been done with the low budget.

We stayed Sunday to Thursday for a short ski break, and the food was outstanding. Every member of staff made us feel welcome, with really personal attention to the details. Ten out of ten.
