The gym is free, roomy, and really good. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well stocked, and the staff are lovely. Getting online was a hassle, though: even though WiFi is free, you have to get a code from reception and sign up for a loyalty scheme. Then it’s capped and painfully slow. Also, the bed is on wheels. I’d have given the place four stars otherwise.

There’s a food market, or what they call restaurant lane, just a short walk away, with Chinese, Thai, Mexican, Malaysian, Indian, and other options. The room was quite clean and room service was really good. This is a decent place for a night or two, but they don’t serve breakfast, which you really want when you’re up early. They offer free WiFi, but it was so slow I had to use my own device.

For the money it’s not bad, and the location is good, about a 15-minute walk from China town. The rooms are a little old, but have what you need. Soundproofing could be better, since I could hear people talking in the next room.

Chinatown is only a five-minute walk away, with plenty of places to eat, and Rundle Mall is about 15 minutes on foot. My room was spacious enough for me and was clean and tidy. The staff were friendly and helpful, and I really appreciated being allowed to check in early at no extra charge.

The staff are lovely, and the bed was okay, though the pillows were too hard. Thin walls meant I could hear loud guests coming and going in the early hours. There’s also a Karaoke bar next door that was going all night and kept me awake. The place isn’t very well soundproofed.
