The gum trees give the caravan sites welcome shade on hot summer days, and each site has its own ensuite. They’re a good size, grassy, and easy to get into, though the ensuites are dated. This is a great park on the outskirts of Bendigo, with more to offer than many others in the area. One cranky permanent resident is the only real downside, always wanting to chip at people. He could do with a Bex and a good lie down! Still, it’s an excellent park and I’ll definitely be back.

The cabin had nice smart TVs in both the bedroom and lounge, and the pool was good, with no restrictions. At night, though, it was a bit creepy to go outside with Skippy staring at you. Cleanliness could be better, as the place needed a lot of dusting. You’ll want to drive, since public transport isn’t practical in Big Hill.

Our ensuite cabin was lovely and spacious, with parking right outside. There was no one in the office at check-in, but a number on the door let us call for a code to the key safe. The only issue was the shower, which hadn’t been cleaned properly, so I cleaned it myself.

If you just need basic accommodation without extras, this place does the job. The cabin was functional, but tired and in need of maintenance. Its security door kept jamming and coming off the track, which got frustrating. Reception was closed when we arrived Friday afternoon, so we called the number on the door and got the key from a lock box. It was also closed when we left Sunday morning. I called again and got no answer, so I put the key in the return drop box.
