Bendigo Backpackers

From the porch there's a view of the cathedral, and the place is a short walk from the centre. My room was warm, clean and spacious, with a comfortable bed, working wifi and access to outdoor seating. The kitchen was immaculately clean; the lounge looked comfortable, though I didn't get time to use it. There were enough toilets and showers, so no waiting in line. It was very quiet during my stay, although sounds from people in the kitchen and living area carry easily. Great value.

We've already booked another stay for a few months from now. This was one of the loveliest backpackers we've stayed in: a spacious room, comfy beds and plenty of room to settle in. Check-in was easy, the amenities were great, and it's centrally located. Really good value for money.

For a stop while passing through, it was a good place to stay. Confirmation and all the info I needed came straight away, and overall I was happy with the stay. But there were some problems in the shower. I'm over six feet tall, the shower head had little pressure and pointed quite high, so I ended up standing against the wall. Water leaked everywhere, and with just one towel each, an extra would've helped. The bar holding up the privacy sheet was rusty. The instant coffee was the worst I've ever had, and since we were next to the shower room and toilet, we got to enjoy the smell when another backpacker had a number two. There wasn't any air freshener. *Edit* I was really disappointed by how they handled my honest review. They sent my partner a horrible message, which felt extremely disrespectful. Customer service was horrible when I raised something they disagreed with. The shower by the first rooms has rust on the top bar. I can't be bothered taking this further, but it was handled really badly.

The owner was friendly and welcoming, and the room was clean, quiet and big enough for a couple. The bed was comfy, and walking to the city centre was easy. There was parking out front, and from the street it looked very safe. There's no air conditioning, but they have a wall fan that helps a little. On a hot day the room can get warm, though it cooled down overnight. Thank you.
