The Lawson Riverside Suites

The Lawson is close enough to walk to the galleries, museum, theatres, parks, heritage reserves and plenty of places to eat and drink. We drove up from Melbourne for the weekend to see particular exhibitions at the Art and Glass Galleries, and were glad we stayed here. The lovely building has thoughtful parking spaces. Our spacious room at the back was comfortable and quiet, almost on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River and the popular levee walk track. We were delighted to find a complimentary breakfast bag and coffee in the restaurant. Those little touches mean a lot when you’re a tired traveller. Highly recommended.

Getting into the room and the front door after hours was by code, so there was no key to keep track of. The old building was lovely and in a quiet spot, with easy on-site parking. Our room seemed clean and fresh, and we appreciated the spacious bathroom and good-sized fridge.

The bed was extremely comfortable, and I hardly heard a sound all night. Either there were no neighbours, which seems unlikely, or the soundproofing was amazing. The room was huge and very clean, and excellent value for money. It was a little dated: the shower and sink taps were hard to turn off completely. It’s around the corner from a major shopping centre. I was very happy and would stay again if I’m in the area.

We had a great suite, probably the nicest we’ve stayed in around Wagga Wagga, and we’ll be back. The room was clean, with lovely furniture, good beds and a decent-sized bathroom. It had everything we could need for a night or two away, including cooking supplies, a normal-sized fridge, microwave and kettle. Amenities galore.
