I have happy memories of staying here in 2019, when it had a different name and, I assume, different owners. Staff were kind: when one bathroom's shower went cold after a couple of minutes, they moved me to another room, and they replaced and cleaned a fridge that smelled bad. I also got extra bed underlays and pillows when I asked, since the two single beds pushed together were uncomfortable. The room itself was big, with a lovely bathroom and shower, clean bedding and carpet, and a cosy split-system air conditioner. I washed clothes in the bathroom and dried them in front of it. I kept food from local shops fresh in the small fridge. The price was $89/night. It was under renovation then, and some nights the street partying was far too noisy, while other nights were quiet and calm. The passageway sometimes smelled of strong cleaning products or fly spray, but my room was very clean. 🙂

They gave my room away despite my confirmed booking. I turned up with no warning and no explanation, and they made no real effort to sort out the mistake. I was basically left to find somewhere else at the last minute. If they can't honour a reservation, I have to wonder what else is going wrong behind the scenes. The hotel's unreliable and shows very little regard for its guests. Save yourself the stress and book somewhere else.

The location is good, and staff did respond when I raised concerns. That was the one positive in an otherwise very poor stay. We somehow managed the three nights we'd booked, despite poor sound insulation at the window and room door, which let in horrible noise from outside. The room also had cockroaches and chemical and other unpleasant smells. The property is badly maintained.

The room's facilities, cleanliness, appearance and staff professionalism were all extremely poor. This was by far my worst hotel experience, and I wouldn't recommend staying here. I was in Adelaide on a tight schedule for a concert, but reception said I had no booking, even though I'd confirmed it by email and phone a day earlier. They said they'd tried calling that day, but I had no missed calls. I'd booked directly through the hotel's website after booking.com cancelled my earlier attempt because of another double booking. An absolute disgrace.
