We spent a lovely afternoon in this gorgeous, tucked-away garden in the heart of Kangarilla. Peter was friendly and knew his stuff, and the cheese platter went beautifully with the wine tasting. I especially loved the 2013 Cab Sav. There were little bandicoots around too, and I’m already looking forward to coming back with my partner.

We stayed the night at Manor Estate and had a delicious seafood platter. Seeing bandicoots for the first time was a treat. Peter and Hero were fantastic hosts. A wine and cheese pairing with 80's tunes on a beautiful autumn day made for a fantastic visit.

The venue itself is serene, lovely to walk around, and great for photos. We enjoyed the wine tastings, and Peter generously served us extra. His hospitality was appreciated, and we had a good time once we finally got there. Still, I wouldn’t recommend the seafood platter at that price, especially with those chips, and better organisation would go a long way for paying customers. I bought a $79 Scoopon voucher for wine tasting for four and a gourmet cheese platter per couple. For weeks I tried to book through different platforms without a response. We went to the venue on a Sunday during trading hours and found it closed, so we went elsewhere and spent more. I eventually asked for a refund by text, then got a reply about booking after the occasion I’d wanted to mark had passed. I booked lunch for my birthday a month later instead. It felt unfair to sell vouchers online and then not respond for weeks. The voucher included one platter, which didn’t seem enough for four, perhaps enough for two. I only learned after leaving that it was advertised as one platter per couple, so we should have received twice as much. We also paid $99 each for two seafood platters, and they were underwhelming for the price. Our group spent over $500. We were told the food was Gordon Ramsey style, but the platter was far from that: the frozen, store-bought fish was overcooked and the chips were soggy. It’s hard to complain in the moment when you’ve waited for your food and are hungry, especially when Peter was the only person working. Thanks, Peter, for your hospitality.

Peter was a wonderful host, and both the food and wine were delicious. Such a lovely experience for a sunny afternoon. Absolutely recommend it, and thank you!

Peter, the friendly owner, welcomed us and shared the story behind the wine and cheese pairings, and the journey they’d take us on. The gardens were beautiful, with authentic scenery. It was an incredible experience, and I highly recommend it. We’ll be back :)
