The river view is a lovely first sight after getting through the steep, awkward driveway. For a budget-priced stay, this was good value. Our one-bedroom unit felt cosy and had only very basic cooking facilities. The shower and toilet were tiny but did the job for a short visit. The proprietor was welcoming and keen to help. The unit could have been better stocked, as there were no knives, forks or tea towel, but these were brought over when we asked. A light breakfast was included in the rate and delivered to the unit. I had a good stay and would return.

Such a charming, warm cottage, with a gorgeous view. The hosts made us feel welcome, and were lovely with both of our fur babies too. Breakfast arrived right at the door and was awesome. Thanks so much!

The owners were nice, and our bedroom and bathroom were clean. The bed was very comfortable, and the tea, coffee, kettle and bar fridge were all fine. What brought this down to three stars was getting woken at 8 in the morning by someone upstairs repeatedly sliding a glass door open and shut. Not what you want on holiday. The driveway and parking area are also so narrow that manoeuvring is really difficult.

We brought our two spaniels to stay in the cabin. The views were lovely, the owner was friendly, and there was plenty of wildlife around. The cabin was very comfortable.

We keep coming back to Protea Hill in Launceston. The hosts are friendly, the cabin feels magical and the views are stunning. Breakfast is delicious, and it's great value.
