We held an event in the ballroom and were really happy with it. The room was fabulous, and the staff couldn't have done more for us.

The house and bathroom were clean, and the service was friendly, but I was disappointed with the function. The waitresses weren't very professional or circulating properly, and they didn't keep track of who had eaten. The same three tables got food first, leaving us with scraps or sometimes nothing at all.

I last went to this pub about 20 years ago, so this isn't really a review of what the Tivoli is like today. Back then, I always had a great time. I saw some great bands, met great people, and even enjoyed one or two illicit substances there. It left a lifelong GOOD impression on me. Maybe I should drop in for a drink now and see if it still has that effect on me :-)

The people were happy to help, but somehow they couldn't get two of us the burger and beer special within an hour. The food was acceptable. It was the first day open and none of the systems were working. My tip: don't open until they do. We won't be back.

It's a proper, fair dinkum pub, so don't expect anything grand or classy. The staff were friendly, prices seemed reasonable for Adelaide, and the atmosphere was great. The place is large and old, with modern changes added to the interior at various times. I'd like to know more about its history, and would recommend checking it out.
