Playford Tavern

I nearly forgot about my main while admiring the salad bar. The fried chicken burger was freshly made to order and certainly filled me up, but I saved room for that pavlova. The zingy pavlova and decadent chocolate mousse were hard to resist, and the kids nearby were excited about the wiggly jelly cubes. The cold salad bar was beautifully presented, with desserts included, while the hot choices had silky garlic mushrooms and an Asian ‘slaw I couldn’t get enough of. The Playford Tavern is worth considering if you’re weighing in on the North’s great question of which tavern has the best salad bar. I’d heard about its improvements, so went to see for myself. The variety and value made tonight a top experience, and all the front and kitchen staff were lovely. Thanks to everyone!

We stopped in on the spur of the moment while passing. The staff were excellent and friendly, and both meals were delicious, with tasty salad too. At $19 each, the meals were huge and included the salad bar. They gave us a takeaway container to bring some home. We’ll definitely be back, excellent, thank you.

Rooms have been updated with new king size beds and mattresses, and I had a very comfy bed and a good night’s sleep. It’s a good pub and accommodation, with pokies, a sports bar, Tab, a restaurant and a kids play area. Order a meal and you get the salad bar, plus hot vegetables including potato bake. Staff are polite and sometimes quite jovial. Thanks again, I’ll be back when working in the area.

Dinner was delicious on both nights, and the wait staff were very attentive, friendly and super professional. Check in was friendly, the rooms spotless, and housekeeping staff were friendly too.
