The bar downstairs had a big selection of beer, wine, spirits, and cocktails, and the location just around the corner from the Rundle street restaurant district was great. I stayed four nights and found the room quiet, with a comfortable bed. I also liked having Nespresso coffee pods. My room had a bath that was lovely for relaxing in. The plug went missing after housekeeping tidied up one day, but staff quickly found a replacement when I asked.

The location was perfect and the staff were great, especially the concierge Christophe. Still, we were very disappointed by the room arrangement and the response afterward. We booked eight nights in a more expensive room with a balcony because we wanted to sit outside with morning coffee or a quiet drink in the evening. But there was no furniture, and staff and the manager said sitting on the balcony wasn’t allowed for guest safety, even though standing there was fine. That restriction wasn’t mentioned in the room description. One staff member suggested Adelaide law might prohibit sitting on hotel balconies, but that’s absolutely not the case. Had we known, we wouldn’t have booked, and it would have been hard to find another hotel at short notice during cricket and Christmas. The manager explained by email, but there was no further follow-up, such as a free drink or discount. It’s about advertising fairly: if you offer a room with a balcony, guests should be told they can’t sit and relax there.

The staff were incredibly friendly and even took our luggage up while we explored the city. Our room was very clean, with real timber flooring, and the bathroom was very good. The pool was small but nice, and I liked the sauna and steam room. There’s a gym too, though it felt a bit small for a five-star hotel. The spin bike was good and felt realistic, and e-bikes were available to rent at a reasonable price. Don’t get their coffee, though. Pullmans hotel was one of my best hotel experiences.

The rooms were spotless, and we’d definitely recommend the hotel breakfast. It’s right in the city centre, close to everything, and feels welcoming as soon as you walk into the lobby. Special thanks to Christopher, the smiling reception team, and Bowan in the lounge for being so kind. It’s also a kid-friendly place. We’ll stay again and have already recommended it to friends.
