Seabourne Breeze

The sunsets were spectacular, but the stay was nowhere near what we expected for $1200 for three nights. We were two adults and two kids, yet had to share two bedrooms because the third bedroom was locked. There was a damp dog smell at the front door, and cupboards were chained shut. The white kettle was black inside, the freezer had dog hair and dirt, and there was hair all over the floor. Under the only couch we found dirt and a chewed tennis ball. The bathroom towels looked like they hadn't been replaced in 10 years. There were just three tea bags, a tablespoon of crystallized coffee, and three toilet rolls for four people. The furniture didn't match the adverts, and the BBQ was dirty. We were also told to bring our own vacuum cleaner, coffee, towels, toilet paper, and kettle if we stayed, and not to look under the couches or upstairs grass rug. After we told the owner the cleaners should be reprimanded, we got abusive voice messages from his wife accusing us of trashing the property and leaving dog hair and locking the bedroom door. When we left, we put our used dishes in the dishwasher and set it to clean. The owner then sent scathing texts saying our $375 bond would be kept for unsubstantiated damage claims. Nine days later, after we posted an appropriate review on another booking site, we got the bond back minus about AUD30 for a dishes unpacking fee. Another wildly accusatory text came through, and we had to tell the owner to ask his wife to stop.

The coastal views were beautiful, and the accommodation was very clean and tidy. Everything had been thought of and worked properly. The bed was comfortable, and we'll be back.
