The Wright Lodge

I couldn’t stay at Studio 26. It wasn’t for me: the room wasn’t clean, the door wouldn’t lock, and the sheet looked dirty, with a duvet thrown over the pillow. A towel was on the floor and I couldn’t tell if it was clean. I felt unsafe and would have felt safer on the street. I’d come to Adelaide for a holiday, but this left me in a difficult spot financially. I had to find somewhere else to stay and am waiting for a refund.

Getting into the city was convenient, but the stay was a nightmare. The place was very dirty and I couldn’t sleep properly. Customer service was poor, and because I’d already paid, I couldn’t cancel. It needs a proper clean and a full renovation.

The kitchen was disgusting, and the bathroom had cockroaches with a sink that looked like it was coming apart. The ceiling was falling apart too, and things in the room felt as if they might break if touched. The air conditioning did work, but it was barely adjustable. The room online didn’t match what I found. It was cheap, but really not worth it. I felt like I’d have nightmares after staying there, and wouldn’t recommend it for a holiday.

I stayed in Room 4 and won’t be back. There was a lot of mould, and the air-conditioning vent was taped over, so the only airflow came from a floor fan. The chair looked as if someone had used it as a toilet, and the desk was scratched. There was no car parking because of construction next door, where the parking shown in the supplied photos is. The Expedia listing didn’t mention the construction site. The door had only one working lock, since the safety chain couldn’t be latched. Right inside the main entrance, the flooring was torn and a trip hazard. Someone had patched it with a square of fake grass, which may or may not have been taken from the construction site next door.
