The pool was amazing, warm and well maintained, and the views were stunning. But after 4 nights, the apartment felt very underwhelming. It’s marketed as luxury, but I could hardly call it that, it felt more like the bare minimum. There was practically no privacy, with neighbours able to see into the apartment from the terrace. The glass front door with just a bit of mesh didn’t feel very secure, and the sliding door was stuck and wouldn’t move. The beds felt springy and cheap, and everything seemed poor quality. For the price, it’s somewhat justified, but I wouldn’t recommend it if you want privacy and a comfortable space.

The balcony view was spectacular, and the room at Searene Apartments was immaculately clean. Everything is very central, just a couple of minutes’ drive from the shops and Coral Sea Marina, where most tours to the Whitsundays and Barrier Reef depart. We really enjoyed our stay and can’t recommend it highly enough!

The views were awesome and the place was tastefully decorated, but a few things kept me from giving 5 stars. There was only 1.5 toilet rolls for 4 people over 5 nights, and just 1 bin liner for 4 people for 5 days. Am I missing something, do guests have to buy their own loo paper? There was only a third of a bottle of hand wash, which just seemed stingy. Surely they could provide more. Lastly, the basin and vanity top were so tiny you couldn’t fit your face in to wash or brush your teeth, and there was no way four people could fit all their toiletries on the vanity bench.

The apartment was very clean and well set up, with two bedrooms, a kitchen and a balcony looking out over the ocean. It’s close to the town centre, feels safe and secure, and has lifts and a secure car park. Great spot.

A lovely place, clean, tidy and well equipped. One small heads-up: Google Maps may send you to the driveway just before Airlie Searene Apartments. Jane was quick and polite when we contacted her and helped get us pointed the right way.
