Best Western Colonial Palms Motor Inn

The views were as lovely as the hotel, and the continental breakfast was a nice extra. The reception lady and cafe team were amazing, and all the staff helped with whatever we needed with a smile. If I go back to Arlie, I’d book here again.

The people were the best part. Everyone was genuine, friendly, and professional, and made us feel welcome. The rooms are basic but spotless and have what you need, with comfortable beds and a great location. The restaurant does a lovely breakfast and dinner, the pool is nice, and the views are awesome. We had an excellent four day stay.

We found a cockroach in the room, and when we went to report it, the employees inside reception just waved us away and said “closed”. They wouldn’t let us in. We called the number on Booking.com and asked for the manager, and they laughed at us. Staff had treated us terribly from day one. We were struggling with our luggage and nobody offered help. We also needed laundry coins, and staff kept refusing until we were visibly upset. Rooms aren’t cleaned for three days, and the cleanliness was practically nonexistent. Breakfast was extremely basic, with only instant coffee and cold milk, not proper coffee. We wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone.

We won’t be back or recommend Colonial Palms Motor Inn to family or friends. Our hotel didn’t have a restaurant, so we crossed the road for breakfast and were welcomed, told to sit wherever we liked, and asked to order at the counter. While I ordered eggs Benedict and coffee, my partner poured juice from the buffet. The waitress said the buffet was for hotel guests only. I asked if we weren’t customers, and she explained it was only for people staying at the hotel. Fine, I paid for our breakfast and sat down. Then, while we waited for the food, she came over and took our half-full glasses without saying anything. So rude. We would have paid extra for the juice if she’d asked, but instead we asked for a refund and left. Very disappointing.
