The toilets explained the awful stench in the bar. The men’s toilet was disgusting, the only toilet seat was broken, and the toilet was leaking. Near the pool table there were flies everywhere, and the whole place felt dirty. We’d popped in with my wife for a couple of drinks while doing our lap of Australia, excited to visit WA’s oldest hotel. My pint was cold, but the lemonade came from a Woolies 1.25 litre bottle, clearly their home brand, which costs about $1 a bottle. They charged us $6 for a midi. Unbelievable. I’m no princess and don’t usually leave reviews, but I felt I had to write this one.

Stopped at Albany’s oldest pub during my Sperm Donation Australia Tour of the South West. It had those old local community vibes, and didn’t disappoint.

Went in for a beer at the oldest pub in W.A. and left after one $13 pint. The place absolutely stinks, the tables and chairs were dirty and sticky, and it was disgraceful. I definitely wouldn’t eat there.

The Oldest Pub in WA is worth a visit. The old building was clean and well presented, and the service was very good. Despite some negative reviews, we really enjoyed a steak sanga along with local fish and squid, things we couldn’t find anywhere else in Albany.
