Dolphin Lodge

Our family group, seven adults and six kids, stayed in two self-service apartments in January 2026. One was a bit run down but still comfortable, while the other was modern and nice. We could have used a few more towels and bin bags that fit the bins, and two rolls of toilet paper for four adults and two kids felt a little short. The outdoor area was lovely and the kids enjoyed it. But at 4 p.m., when they were playing with bubbles in the garden, we were told off rudely. I understand another guest may have complained and that the children could be noisy, but there was no loud music or excessive noise. It was just little kids getting excited. Staff could have asked politely, instead of giving us an angry look and telling us to be quiet without any warmth or care.

They had everything we needed, including a travel cot and highchair, so we didn’t have to pack them. The home was lovely, and the location was perfect. We especially liked the quiet, private outdoor space with plenty of shade for the baby to play. I’d recommend it and would stay again.

David, the owner, was unreasonably rude to us, and his attitude and choice of words made the whole experience horrible. Maybe you’ll get lucky and never have to deal with him, but we weren’t so lucky and it ruined our vacation. Looking through the one- and two-star reviews, it seems other guests have had similar complaints. The hotel itself is average and outdated, with nothing special about it. Take your chances if you want, but I’d stay away to protect your holiday mood and avoid supporting a business that treated guests like garbage.

Getting to the swimming beach was easy on foot, and great cafes were an easy walk too. The grounds and facilities were neat, tidy and well kept. Our room was clean and comfortable, with everything we needed, and there was a laundry with covered drying lines. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and kindly let us park our trailer onsite. Highly recommend Dolphin Lodge.
