Atura Albury

Roxy took care of nearly everything for my elopement at Altura, asking the right questions and making it feel perfect and stress free. As the bride, I only had to find my dress, photographer, hair and makeup, and flowers. Roxy organised the rest, including menus, decorations and an amazing celebrant. The rooms were beautiful, the food was excellent, the drinks were out of this world, and the staff were the best I've ever dealt with. It was such good value, too. Happy hour and the strong water pressure were the only things I liked. The rooms looked better in the pictures than they were in person: tired, basic, dusty and not especially clean, with an old damp smell throughout the hotel. The sheets, blanket and towels were wafer thin, and there wasn't an extra blanket in the room. WiFi was so bad I ended up using my phone hotspot. I was ignored at check-in, and the staff were rude. The bar staff weren't much better. I wish I'd read the reviews before work booked this place. Book somewhere else.

The pool and games room are excellent, and the lobby is a much nicer place to hang out than at other hotels. Parking is free and easy, online check-in was seamless, and the simple breakfast was better than what nearby places offered. The rooms are spacious and have the basics, though the carpet could use a refresh. It feels a little dated and needs some TLC, but it's a high-value stay with plenty of perks.

The room was comfortable, though we found the previous guest's rubbish still there. It didn't affect our stay. Breakfast was fine and a pleasant way to start the day. The location is excellent, with the city centre and botanical garden both an easy walk away.
