Quest Albury On Townsend

The rooms were okay, and the rest of reception staff were polite and helpful: Courtney, Amy, and one gentleman whose name I can’t remember. But we had a bad experience with the manager, Harry, during our week-long stay. He created a false account that we had asked to change rooms, and it caused us a lot of stress throughout the visit.

We stopped in Albury for a night while travelling between Sydney and Melbourne and were pleasantly surprised by the hotel. Amber was running reception and was outstanding. I’ve spent many years in HR, and by the length of the Flemington straight, she’s one of the most engaging, professional, and pleasant hospitality employees I’ve met. The room and facilities were clean, quiet, comfortable, and well equipped. It may not be the cheapest place in town, but I’d say it’s one of the best.

The beds were pretty comfortable, and the rooms were clean and well stocked. It was totally fine for a place to sleep. The photos online were a little misleading, though. Because of the building layout, at least half the rooms look straight at another block about 10 metres away. The website photo shows blue skies and doesn’t suggest you might get an “inside” view. I’d probably choose somewhere else next time I’m in Albury, since other options don’t have that quirk.

The staff were attentive and seemed genuine, and it’s a great place to stay overall. Some rooms could use a little TLC. One bathroom had great water pressure, while the other didn’t. Even with those small issues, I’d stay again.
