Alice Motor Inn

Really liked the place. It's affordable for a quick overnight stay, and the room stays cool even on 40-degree days. When I checked in, the woman at the desk and I had a laugh and a little chat, then she insisted on upgrading my room. It wasn't necessary, but I appreciated it. I don't travel through Alice Springs much, but I'll definitely stay again when I do.

The owners are onsite, super friendly, and gave us lots of insight about the local community and ideas for things to see and do in Alice. Our room on the east side was really clean and quiet, and the residential location felt safe. After a day of adventure, the pool was divine in the heat and it was a sweet spot to rest our heads. Loved staying here, highly recommend.

The bathroom was clean, there were no smells, and the aircon worked well. The room itself was clean too, and it looked like they move the furniture to vacuum underneath. Even the kettle looked new. It's within a 10-minute walk of an IGA and a few places to eat, including fish and chips and Indian food. I only stayed a few nights, but the location seemed good as well. I'd stay here next time in Alice.

Nothing against the owners, but room 15 was hands down the worst hotel room I've ever had. I tried calling around for somewhere else, but there was no other accommodation available. This should be a negative three rating. It was disgustingly dirty, and I didn't even want to use the shower. I considered sleeping in the rental car. The lights were falling off the wall, and the broken ceramic soap dish in the shower could slice your leg open. The curtains were too small and dirty; the carpet had stains and cigarette burns; all the lampshades were missing. The kettle had white scale and black, rusted bits floating in it. Who knows what had gone on in the beds.
