Big4 Macdonnell Range Holiday Park

The park has lovely pools and play areas for kids, and it feels very secure, so it would suit families well. I noticed three food trucks too. There’s a great brewery across the road, and Alice Springs town centre is only about a six-minute drive away for supplies.

The pools were enough to make us want to come back, and there was plenty for the kids to do. We didn’t get time to explore the whole place. The facilities were fantastic, the staff lovely, and the Sunday pancakes made our camping trip even better.

There’s incredible value here for what you get. The service was great, and when a plumbing problem was reported, park staff were working on it within minutes, even late at night. The place seemed to be in a safer part of town and had heaps of facilities. I lost count of the camp kitchens and amenities. There are several pools, a waterslide, a separate water park with another slide, two bouncy pillows, a nice hill for sunset, and activities each evening. Highly recommend it for all those reasons.

The reading room was especially nice, and it’s adults only, which made it a great quiet spot. The gym was a pleasant surprise, and there are separate enclosed, air-conditioned rooms for games, TV, reading, and exercise. In the summer heat, those cool spaces make things almost bearable, haha. I was glad to be offered an upgrade and picked that site over another option. But when I chose, a woman said, “wow, you're hard to please,” which wasn’t nice to hear. There were friendly people around too, aside from that snarky moment.
