Bruny Island Escapes and Hotel Bruny

The staff made lunch with our visiting friends and three little kids easy and stress-free. They had us set up and were flexible about the timing, and the kids' meals were great too. The food was fantastic, and it's such a beautiful space with lovely views. It's already a favourite place for us, and we love bringing visitors there.

I ordered the seafood linguini for $36 because the reviews made it sound like their best dish. It was inedible, putrid, and a complete waste of money. The food was so bad that I couldn't care about the service or anything else. I don't think the person cooking back there has any idea what they're doing. I came for dinner last night, and I won't come again. A really sad start to my time on the island.

We came back for a second meal the next day and enjoyed it both times. The dining room is cosy, with incredible sea views. It's pub food, but made with fresh ingredients and some kitchen skill. They have lovely Bruny Island beers on tap and a good range of Tasmanian wines. Service stayed quick and friendly even when they were busy.

There were four of us, and we all enjoyed the meal, the brilliant service, and those wonderful views. The food was excellent with plenty to choose from, and the portions are generous, so come hungry! The warm spiced mulled cider was lovely, though there may have been a few too many cloves, my tongue was going numb 😁 Thanks for a very enjoyable evening.
